明清两朝(the Ming and Qing Dynasties)是中国小说的繁荣时期。从思想和主題方面来说，这个时代的小说包含了传统文化的精神，充分显示出其文学价值和社会作用。在文学史上，明清小说具有与唐诗、宋词、元曲(Tang Shi, SongCi and Yuan Qu)一样重要的地位。中国文学四大名著(Four Great Works of literature)都是明清时期的代表作品。这些享有世界声誉的作品都已经被改编成影视剧，受到中外观众的喜爱。
1.第1句中的“繁荣时期”表达为times of prosperity。定语“中国小说的”较长，故将其处理成后置定语，用介词短语for Chinese novels来表达。
2.翻译第2句时，将“这个时代的小说……”处理为主句，“从思想和主题方面来说”作状语，为平衡句子，置于句首，“充分显示出……”处理为伴随状语，用现在分词短语来表示，故整句译为From the aspects of both ideas and themes, the novels in this period have contained..., fully displaying...。
3.第3句中的“明清小说具有与唐诗......一样重要的地位”可译为Ming-Qing novels are as important as Tang Shi...，“与……一样……”可用as + a. + as结构来表达。
4.最后一句“......都已经被改编成影视剧，受到......的喜爱”可用并列结构译出…have been adapted into...and... are popular with...,亦可把“受到......的喜爱”处理成定语从句，表达为which are popular with...。

The Ming and Qing Dynasties are times ofprosperity for Chinese novels. From the aspects ofboth ideas and themes, the novels in this periodhave contained the soul of traditional culture, fullydisplaying its value of literature and social effects. Inthe history of literature, Ming-Qing novels are asimportant as Tang Shi, Song Ci and Yuan Qu. All the Chinese Four Great Works of literature arethe representative works of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. These world-famous works havebeen adapted into films and TV series which are popular with Chinese and foreign audience.
