奥运英语：奥运安保
为了确保2008年北京奥运会办成安全的奥运会(to ensure safe Olympics)，有关场馆将采取严格的安保措施(to takestrict security measures)，要做到万无一失(to ensure foolproof
security)。所有入口都将设有人身与车辆安检口(security checkpoint at the access for personal and
vehicles)，每个比赛场馆和训练馆都有自己的安保指挥中心(security command
center)。奥运会期间，安保部门将为奥林匹克公园设置一道长达18公里，由很高的装有红外探测仪的铁栅栏(a tall iron fence equipped
with infrared detectors)构成的警戒线(set up an Olympic Park security
cordon)。同时，将有10万名警察和60万志愿者在比赛地点、宾馆和街道巡逻。此外，还有一个由30万个摄像头组成的监控网络覆盖整个北京。
为了确保奥运会有一个安全的社会环境(to ensure a sound and safe social
environment)，公安部门正全力打击犯罪活动(sparing no effort in cracking down on
crimes)，加强对娱乐场所的监控(tightening up surveillance on entertainment venues)。
中国人民解放军总参谋部(the Headquarters of the General Staff of the Chinese People’s
Liberation Army)也为确保奥运会的安全进行了周密的安排(making thorough arrangements)，全力备战(going all
out to get prepared for the battle)。担负奥运会安保任务的部队(concerned arms of the armed
service)正在进行紧张的实兵演练(undergoing concentrated combat training and
exercise)和军地联合训练(joint exercise by the arm and civilians)，特别是做好核、化、生武器检查(check
of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons)，工程技术支援(engineering and technical
support)，救援和爆炸物搜查排除(rescue and search and removing of
explosives)。我们在反恐(anti-terrorism)方面的努力更会确保奥运会的安全。
国际刑警组织(the International Criminal Police
Organization---INTERPOL)秘书长称赞说，北京奥运会的安保工作达到了最高标准。
