waste即“城市固体废物”。固体废物是指人们在生产建设、日常生活和其他活动中产生的、对产生者来说是不能用或暂时不能用、抛弃后会污染环境的固态、半固态的废弃物质。按照城市固体废物产生的原因，可将其分为industrial
solid waste(工业固体废物)、dangerous solid waste(危险固体废物)、clinical waste(医疗废物)和municipal
domestic waste(城市生活垃圾)四类。
对于recoverable garbage(可回收垃圾)，我们可以进行renewable resource
recycling(可再生资源回收)，对于unrecoverable garbage(不可回收垃圾)，我们可以进行waste
incineration(垃圾焚烧)，并将焚烧产生的能量用于发电。
